Handmade Cape – Order Facilitation service
The CCDI’s Market Support Programme has an excellent order facilitation service that will add value to your business. This very convenient service is aimed at corporate buyers, event organisers, the conference industry, retailers (domestic or international), the tourism sector, hospitality industry, government departments - in fact any buyers.

From a logistical perspective, it is often challenging for buyers to deal with a number of smaller producers situated in a foreign country where factors such as language and communication barriers might affect a transaction. Our order facilitation service works, both locally and abroad, to ensure complete logistical support and seamless movement of the product - from producer to buyer, in partnership with reliable freight forwarders or local transporters. Our role is also to make sure that orders are delivered on time and that quality is controlled. We also facilitate the customisation of products to suit events, themes or corporate identities. A small service fee will apply to the total value of the order – this is purely to cover direct expenses relating to the facilitation process.
At the same time, we are constantly sourcing new retail outlets and working with existing ones to build market capacity for craft producers. We investigate retailers in various areas in order to establish which niches they cater for, and to foster relationships with owners / buyers.
We are currently working on developing niche sector electronic brochures which will be emailed to retailers, corporate and industry entities, inviting them to view some of the latest products that we have on offer. In this way we can generate interest and sales for our craft producers.

As a Section 21 not for profit organisation, we are responsible to our funders – the more we are able to prove that we have assisted craft producers, the greater our chances of retaining and hopefully increasing funding for the years to come. For this reason we ask for feedback about any orders or sales that were generated directly or indirectly by the CCDI so we can report on them.
