CCDI is rolling out business development training nationally – we were in Mpumalanga from 22 – 26 May for a five-day Basic Intensive workshop with local producers from communities in the province - pictured here is the group from KwaMhlanga.

As part of the CCDI’s new mandate to expand our support services to creative businesses nationally, we have embarked on a National Craft Sector Development Programme offering enterprise development and creativity workshops in all nine provinces.

The programme, which is funded by the national Department of Small Business Development (dsbd) is a landmark one for the CCDI, and it is enabling the CCDI to share our 15 years of experience and success in developing creative businesses to the benefit of hundreds more people and SMMEs across the country.

As part of the programme, the dsbd is also funding CCDI’s development of a national database of creative businesses and the building of the search-and-connect on-line platform Peek (www.peek.org.za) - which is set to become South Africa's biggest showcase of all craft and design products.

Nearly 250 businesses have signed up for Peek already with over 1500 products. A total of 14 producers and 95 products were added to Peek from Mpumalanga during this past week.
